Well day 1 on the new diet went really well. I avoided all carbs and some of the Christmas bloat seems to have disappeared (i.e. I'm not feeling quite so stuffed today as I have over the last few days!). This resulted in a 2lb loss overnight! Now, I know most, if not all, of this is the Christmas/water retention so I'm not too excited but at least I'm heading in the right direction.
Sadly, whilst I've been steering away from the wheat, I've failed in avoiding the sweet stuff at a New Year's party this evening. Quite a few chocolates have found their way on my plate which is a bit of a disappointment. However I'm not going to beat myself up about it as I'm starting the real diet on Tuesday when I have my consultation with the Cambridge Diet consultant. I can't wait to start the plan, particularly as it will mean that I'll be steered away from temptation in the form of food and will have all my meals planned and completely defined.
I have set up my obsessive excel sheet which contains all my data in terms of weight, target weight, dates and all with pretty colours and clever formulae which shows off how much weight I've lost. I found the one I started last year too and I'm delighted that I actually weigh 7lbs less than I did at the same time last year. So I may not be perfect but at least I'm smaller than I was 12 months ago. On that note, here's hoping 2011 brings us all health, wealth and happiness and a smaller pair of knickers by the end of it!
